The official first post of the new and exciting Charlotte News blog. We will be featuring local, national and international news, politics, commentary, art, music, quality venues, humor, history, guest writers and artists, and a lot more.

This blog, in no way, intends to compete with the ersatz Charlotte News newspaper. In the tree-products products, the Charlotte Observer, Creative Loafing, The Leader and the Charlotte Post do just fine, thank you.

This is different. This is a blog. This ain't slanted toward advertizers, left, right or center.
If it were, I'd have to kill you. Well, not really. But you see...at least I can say goofy stuff like that. No big advantage, granted, but at least I can say that I hope we will fill a void. Haven't done that in a while, and they say it is good exercise.

Besides, competition is bad for you. Cooperation has proven to be a better strategy.

One thing I hope we can accomplish, since we are particularly gifted in the vision department, is to help shape a better Charlotte and Carolina. Lord knows it ain't perfect.

In order to be fair and balanced -- since that is the thing to do in this Age of Impartiality (psyche!) -- we will provide links to other organs in our midst.
"Organs in our Midst"! Wasn't that a movie?

Peace, love, and Charlottism for all!
